5G mmWave PAAM Development Platform

Tria and Fujikura have created a leading edge 5G FR2 phased array antenna development platform for mmWave frequency bands. This platform enables developers to quickly create and prototype advanced 5G mmWave systems using AMD’s Zynq™ UltraScale+™ RFSoC Gen3 and Fujikura’s FutureAcess™ Phased Array Antenna Module (PAAM). Developers control all digital and RF settings using the proven Tria RFSoC Explorer® MATLAB application.

This combination of leading-edge components and software allows developers to quickly prototype with Fujikura’s compact PAAM and AMD RFSoC. By creating a highly flexible, integrated development platform targeting 5G systems, both Tria and Fujikura are seeking to simplify prototyping and development by integrating key elements of a 5G system from RF to baseband.

Platform Components

The 5G mmWave PAAM Development Platform consists of three components, ordered individually:

  • Fujikura Type-C 28GHz Phased Array Antenna Module Evaluation Kit (2 versions: 26.50-29.50GHZ or 24.25-27.50GHZ
  • AMD Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC ZCU208 Evaluation Kit
  • Avnet RFSoC Explorer MATLAB application(free download)
